White House Denounces 'Democratic Fabrication' as Further Jeffrey Epstein Images Made Public
House Democrats have made public a fresh batch of what they described as "disturbing" photographs from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 photographs—some of which have been seen before—plus another 70 released later on Friday account for a minuscule portion of the approximately 100,000 images provided to the House investigative panel, which is looking into the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The disgraced financier died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking offenses.
High-Profile Individuals in the Images
Included in the notable figures seen in the initial batch are celebrities featuring film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are obscured.
Administration Response
The White House addressed the release in a official comment, charging Democrats of selectively "choosing" the photographs for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false narrative."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a White House spokesperson said, maintaining that "the current government has done more for Epstein's victims than Democrats ever have by consistently demanding disclosure, releasing numerous documents of papers, and demanding more inquiries into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Congressional Democrat Comment
The photos were released without context, but as stated by a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's links with wealthy individuals.
"Now is the occasion to halt this White House concealment and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a release.
The publication of these images comes as the oversight committee continuing its probe into the Epstein matter.
