Mikel Arteta has voiced fears that his team's pursuit for titles this season is being jeopardized by a concerning circle of injuries and a grueling schedule.

Fresh Team Update

Star player Declan Rice did not travel for the Champions League trip to Belgium due to sickness. In addition, attacker Leandro Trossard and center-back William Saliba are still on the sidelines.

There was, however, better news regarding Gabriel Jesus, with the Brazilian forward registered to their European squad. He replaces the hurt youngster Max Dowman, who suffered an ankle problem.

"Training, no because we lack time to train. But clearly the fact that you are missing players, you are placing demands on other players more, there's a consequence to that and it's a really dangerous circle."

Dowman's issue is the most recent in a long list of injuries for the North London side. Since the beginning of last campaign, they have recorded 95 injuries, the second-most total in the English top flight.

Extended Absences

• Defenders Cristhian Mosquera and Gabriel Magalhães are unlikely to return until the new year.
• Midfielder Kai Havertz continues to rehabilitate from knee and "needs more time," according to the boss.

Arteta dismissed the idea that practice methods were to blame, pointing to a shortage of opportunity for sessions. He emphasized the strain on available players, some of whom have featured over 150 matches in two years.

Transfer Strategy

Even after a significant off-season spend over £250 million, Arteta stated the team is unlikely planning to enter the winter transfer market.

"Right now we're just focusing on getting the players back and with luck it will be a question of weeks," he commented. "It's clear how crucial those weeks are going to be."

Looking Ahead

The team suffered their initial loss in 18 games at the hands of Aston Villa, cutting their lead at the top of the Premier League to two clear points.

Attention now turns to the Champions League, where a sixth consecutive group-stage win would all but guarantee a top-eight place. Winger Gabriel Martinelli could make a club record by scoring in a fifth straight successive European match.

"We are disappointed with the result, but we have to keep going," he said. "It's not like everything is going wrong because we lost one game. So we stick together."
