Six sides – the Gunners, Chelsea, Fulham, the Magpies, Tottenham and West Ham – have been this season's leading trend-followers by scoring fewer scores from open-play and increased from set-plays, while Man City are the unique club to buck the trend so far by performing the complete reverse.
It will be fascinating to watch if teams carry on to rely so heavily on set-plays as the season goes on or if they regain their general attacking flair and begin netting increased totals in open play as well.
