In a surprising collaboration that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the official release, "An unusual confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of forbidden rituals and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.

The mission centers on "peculiar trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Bonus Content

Players who finish the adventure will receive an special katana in addition to multiple objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-based attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe

Third Free Story Update

This release also brings the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that obviously referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
